Falana writes CJ, alleges secret plot to rearrest Sowore

Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), has raised the alarm over an alleged plot by the Federal Government to rearrest the publisher of Sahara Reporters, Mr Omoyele Sowore.
In a petition to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, the Lagos lawyer said the new plot to arrest Sowore was based on a report on the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, testing positive for coronavirus.
In a message to his followers on Facebook on Thursday, Sowore said his lawyers had informed him of a high-powered delegation sent to the Federal High Court in Abuja to obtain a detention order.
According to a copy of the petition obtained by our correspondent, Falana wondered why his client, not being a member of the armed forces, should be subjected to the military law that would warrant the army to detain him in a military facility.
The petition read in part, “Your lordship, we have confirmed the clandestine move by the Nigerian Army to secure an ex parte order to detain our client over some ridiculous moves following the revelation of classified information through SaharaReporters.
“Since our client is not a member of the armed forces, he is not subject to the Armed Forces Act or any regulation to warrant or any application to detain him in a military detention facility.”
In the petition sent through the Deputy Chief Registrar, Falana urged the court to advise the army to halt the alleged attempt to arrest Mr Sowore, and to report to the police if there is evidence that his client committed an offence.

Coronavirus: Ogun State closes all its borders with neighbouring states and Republic of Benin

The Ogun State Government has announced the closure of its borders with neighbouring states and the Republic of Benin.

Enforcement of the border closure order given by Governor Dapo Abiodun will be effected by 12 midnight on Sunday, March 29.

In a statement released by Abiodun's Chief Press Secretary Kunle Somorin, the Governor stated that the state is constrained to close its order in order to stem and flatten the curve of the spread of the dreaded coronavirus

It reads in part;

“The position of Ogun State is peculiar. It not only shares an international border with the Republic of Benin, it does so with all other states in the South West (except Ekiti), including Lagos State, which has understandably recorded the highest number of infections in the country, largely because it hosts the busiest air and sea ports and it’s the nation’s economic capital.
“The border closure will not only be beneficial to Ogun State but the national efforts to curtail and contain the virus. Lessons from other climes strongly indicate that closure of borders has the potential to drastically flatten the curve of spread whilst unrestricted movement portends grave dangers.
"The only exceptions to the interstate restrictions are vehicles conveying personnel involved in essential services such as security agencies, health workers, food and medical items and petroleum products.”

Residents of the state were urged to work with security operatives in the state to curb the spread of coronavirus in the state and West Africa in general.

Husband contracts coronavirus after hosting wedding anniversary party of less than 10 people

An American man has tested positive for coronavirus after hosting his 27th wedding anniversary party with less than 10 people.

According to ABC7, Mr. Emilian White and his wife Kim Gagne, celebrated their anniversary by having a small dinner with a couple of friends not more than ten this past Friday.

After the event, Mr. Emilian developed a fever and started feeling ill. He was later taken to a hospital, where he tested positive for coronavirus.

His wife, Kim, said she thought her husband would just get checked out after getting tested for the virus but she says, "It went from 0 to 100 quickly," as their last simple touch was a fist bump before the shocking news was revealed.

"I didn't know what was happening," she said via Facetime.

"We had people over and that was our mistake. We thought we were okay because we had less than 10 people. But no, don't have anyone in your house," she said.

"He's getting better, but, when they took him for a scan, the minute they took the oxygen off, it becomes very difficult to breathe," she added.

Mrs. Kim Gagne and her children are now in quarantine at home.

How I Fell In Love With Music -Tiwa Savage

Mavins Tiwa Savage has recalled how she started
doing music.
The new Roc Nation star revealed for the first time
how her high school crush made her fall in love with
music.
“I played trombone. Don’t ask me if I still play
(laughs), but I literally picked it up because I had a
crush on a boy in high school. He used to hang around
with the cool kids, the musicians and dancers,” She
said
“I was this kid fresh from Nigeria, strong accent, my
mom shaved my hair off. I tried to get his attention. I
went to this music teacher and said that I really
wanted to do music. He looked to the corner of the
room and said the trombone was the only instrument
left. I picked it up, but eventually got bullied for it
because it was always getting in the way on the bus,”
“That was having the opposite effect of what I wanted
because this guy’s now laughing at me instead of
falling in love with me. So, I gave up and joined the
choir, that’s how I started doing music.” She concluded
