Hurray! Urban highlife creator, Adekunle Gold is a year older today

Today, January 28 marks the birthday of talented music act, Adekunle Gold.
Born Adekunle Kosoko decades ago, Adekunle Gold is a trained artist who finally embraced his love for music a couple of years ago.
The singer, who is signed unto Olamide’s YBNL, prior to his entrant into the mainstream music industry was referred to as the king of photoshop after smoothly editing himself into photos of popular celebs.
A professional graphics artist, Adekunle Gold’s first offering was the widely acclaimed ‘Sade’, which is rendered to the tune of One Direction’s ‘Story of my Life’. The self-acclaimed YBNL Toaster followed up ‘Sade’ with ‘Orente’ which established him as one of the fastest rising music acts in Nigeria.
He has since dropped a third single, ‘Pick Up’ which has also become a fan favourite in the country.
Adekunle Gold won the award for Best Alternative song at the recently held 2015 Headies award ceremony with his acceptance speech alongside label boss, Olamide leading to the infamous brawl with Mavin’s Don Jazzy.
Adekunle Gold’s musical style according to him is named Urban Highlife.
