Addressing newsmen, the disc jockey expert said the entertainment industry has always been there and doesn’t think anybody can lay claim to have founded it.
“I don’t think anybody can lay claim to the industry but you will always play your own part which is not so much of you doing anything out of the extra ordinary. It’s just how well you play your own part and how settled it is.”
DJ Jimmy Jatt said some other people could have been credited the
same way but because they were not selfless about it, they were selfish
and they do it for just themselves and when you list out the people that
contributed to that thing they might not be reckoned with.
Narrating his ugly days, Jimmy Jatt said he was once seen as a bad influence to many.
“A lot of people don’t even see what you do as a profession, and
not even just that. I had friends that their dads, mums, aunties, uncles
must not see them around me because they thought I was a bad influence.
They thought that of all the things in life, he chose to be a DJ, and
you know how they will just tag you as awon omo ti won o serious yen,
but that was even where I tapped the energy, courage and determination
to do it because you think that why are these people judging you like
that? Maybe if you make something out of it, they will appreciate.”
