The last has not been heard as regards Blackface’s allegation that his former label mate, Tuface idibia, ‘stole’ his songs.
Efe Omorogbe, Tuface’s manager, who has
before now, kept mum concerning the allegation, decided to break the ice
earlier in the week as he described Blackface’s allegation as “mere
rant and publicity stunt to promote his new song, Killa.”
He said, “When my attention was drawn to
Blackface’s twitter rant about the “theft” of his songs by his ex-band
mate 2Baba, my initial reaction was to ignore what I perceived as an
obvious marketing gimmick for his new single.
“The reaction from a vast majority of
people on social media who read about the allegation was evidence that
the ploy had backfired. Blackface’s press interviews since the twitter
rant have made it necessary for me to present the flip side and set the
records straight.”
According to Omoregbe, the two
artistes co-wrote a number of songs during their days as Plantashun Boiz
including the disputed ‘Let somebody love you’.
He further revealed that Blackface had
always got royalties for each of the songs they co-authored as well as
appropriate credits and so cannot understand the basis of the latest
accusation. He advised him to seek legal redress rather than looking for
cheap publicity.
